FIH Standard Water Based Hockey Pitch Watering System Installation
Norfolk based Irrigation contractor Autoflow Systems were pleased to be awarded the contract to supply and install a fully automatic pitch irrigation system the newly constructed Water Based International standard hockey pitch at the North Wales Institute, Wrexham.
In order to achieve the necessary certification for this state of the art facility the watering system had to deliver 3mm of water within a 15 minute time widow. This equates to some 18 cubic meters of water per application.
6 Nelson SR150 Big Guns were selected to achieve the necessary application to the pitch within this time frame. Mounted on 2.4m risers at the corners and centre lines of the pitch, these units delivered 74.7 cubic meters per hour at 6 Bars through a 27.9 mm nozzle achieving a massive throw of 58.5m.
