After 80 years the front garden of the Grand Ocean Hotel has been bought back to life. The hotel, designed with an ocean liner art deco style, was for many years, along with the famous Saltdean Lido, one of the most glamorous places on the south coast. After years of gentle decline the hotel and the surrounding estate is been redeveloped into a luxury seaside living. The garden had to be reinstated exactly as it was when the hotel was first opened after extensive construction and landscaping by Island Landscapes the irrigation system was installed by Garden System part of the ECP Group.
With an underground tank fed from the mains, a range of MP Rotator nozzles on 4” risers were installed to cover all the complicated grass patterns with the minimum of overlap onto surrounding areas. With the wide choice of nozzles and the arc reduction that the MP Rotators offers this was easily achieved whilst maintaining uniformity of irrigation and with the in built check valves in the bodies no puddling at the lowest sprinklers occurred.
All the shrub beds included the Netafim Techline pressure compensated drip line with a 30cm in line spacing.
Controlled by a Nelson EZ Pro Junior with Netafim Aquanet valves.
